My name is Niko Zvodinsky (AA ’24). I'm here to tell you about my Arrupe College experience.

  • Major: AA in Business Administration
  • High School: Golder College Prep
  • Involvements: Art Fellows and their Workshops, and I participated in volunteer work, like the LEAD Fellowship and LABRE

My plans after graduation:
I will be continuing at Loyola University Chicago to complete my bachelor's in photography.

Professor a new student should absolutely take a class with:
I think a new student should definitely take a class with Dr. Tarantino. He really shows care for his students and understands the college struggle. He engages you in entertaining topics and he pushes you to be the best student you can be (I might be a little bias as he is my advisor).

Class I never expected to love:
I never expected to love Religious Studies/ Theology with Professor Ramos-Baker. His energy and knowledge on the subjects he teaches really made the class entertaining and memorable. I went into the class expecting something totally different from what I got, in a good way.

Favorite spot on campus:
My favorite place on Arrupe Campus is the Art Room. It brings so many different people together. It gives us time to wind down and relax from all the classes we have. We’ve played uno, listened to music, sang together, yelled at each other, and bonded through hard times.

What was your favorite moment during your time at Loyola?
I would say my favorite moments at Loyola come from the LUREC retreats. It gives the out-of-state University experience, without going out the state. I’ve created many memories and friendships during my time at LUREC.

Some surprisingly cool things about Arrupe:
Give them some time, and your professors can be really cool. You just need to warm up to them. If you have a good relationship with your professor, the class will go a lot better. Another other cool thing is the snacks that each professor leaves out, which is also why it’s good to be cool with them.

What advice do you have for the incoming class?
Take things one day at a time. Do your HOMEWORK (on time)!
